More than 160,000 migrant workers in Shenzhen will receive government-subsidized vocational training starting April, city officials said early this week. The subsidies range from 100 to 800 yuan (14-111 U.S.dollars), confirmed Liu Xionghua, vice chief of the training department of the Shenzhen Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau. I passed on watching the debate last night (it’s just not that interesting, frankly) but, after hearing that NAFTA was attacked by both candidates, I had to go back and read the transcript. My conclusion: neither Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama understand the issue of trade, or they will be unwilling to make the break from so-called “free trade” that we need.
