Violation of labour rights: the 25 countries under examination of ILO

From child workers in China to migrants in Israel, from trade unionsts in Pakistan to indigenous people in Peru. Some of the worst stories of violation of core labour and human rights were brought to the attention of the International labour conference, the annual meeting of the ILO, in Geneva. ILO: Journalists training on globalization and labour rights

Over 30 journalists, press officers and media professionals from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East will participate in a course on “Communicating Labour Rights” at the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, Italy, from 4 to 8 August.

International Day of Disabled Persons

3 December is observed annually as the United Nations International Day of Disabled Persons (IDDP) since 1992. It provides opportunities for Governments, organizations of disabled persons and society as a whole to focus upon and take stock of the gains to be made from the inclusion of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
