Media Alert: the 25 countries under examination of ILO

From freedom of association in Egypt to equal remuneration in India. From discrimination in Russia to forced labour in Sudan.  These are just a few of the 25 individual cases under discussion this week at the Committee on the application of standards of the Intenational Labour Conference, in Geneva. List and calendar.

The 25 countries were selected among those examined by the ILO Commitee of Experts in its annual report, issued in March. Representatives of governments, employers and trade unions from each of the countries involved are now debating about the respect or the violation of specific conventions on labour rights.

The full transcripts of the single discussions will be available soon after the Conference and they will be published in the annual ILC Report.
